TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Redshirt freshman
Dionte Alexander tallied 15 points, but North Greenville held off Belmont Abbey 62-46 in Conference Carolinas Northwest Division men's basketball action Wednesday night.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 1-16 overall and 0-14 in league play, while the Trailblazers improve t0 9-14, 5-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alexander made five field goals and hit all five of his free throws en route to his fifth double-figure scoring game in the last six outings. He was the only player to reach double figures.
- Alexander also shared the team rebounding lead with five, matching Jordan Patton.
- Patton and Alhousseny came closed to double figures with eight points each.
- The Crusaders made all 10 of their free throws.
- Belmont Abbey came from 31 points down midway through the second half back to within 16 in the final minute by virtue of a 17-2 run.
