WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Alhousseny Diallo and Frankin Davis scored 21 point each, but it was not enough as Winston Salem State earned a 76-68 victory over Belmont Abbey Wednesday afternoon. Diallo also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
With the result, the Crusaders close out the 2025 portion of the schedule with a 5-5 record. The Rams improve to 5-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Diallo and Franklin combined to hit 15 of 20 shots from the field, 8 of 10 and 7 of 10, respectively.
- Daniel Lubamba also reached double figures with 11 points.
- Elijah Burnett was the assist leader with six.
- After shooting just 37.5 percent in the first half, The Abbey sizzled to 56.0 (14 of 25) after intermission. It finished the contest at 46.9 percent.
- The lead changed hands 12 times and there were 11 ties. The biggest lead for either team was just nine points with the Rams up by that twice in the final minute. The Crusaders led by seven early in the contest.
- Rebounding was nearly even at 3129 to Winston-Salem State but the Abbey committed 18 turnovers to the Rams' 7.
- The contest was the final non-conference action of the season.
