WINGATE, N.C. -- Judah Ravenell tallied 17 points and five rebounds -- both team highs -- but three-point shooting proved to be the difference in a 100-59 Wingate victory over Belmont Abbey Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs hit 15 shots behind the arc, compared to the Crusaders' four.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 1-3, while Wingate improves to 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ravenell took just four shots from the field, hitting three, but made nine of 11 at the free throw line. He hit two of three from behind the arc.
- Shane Potts was the only other Crusader in double figures with 11 points.
- Ther Crusaders made just 33.3 percent (18 of 54) of their shot attempts, including 14.8 percent (four of 27) of their three-pointers.
- As a team, The Abbey hit 79.2 percent (19 of 24) from the charity stripe. The numbers for make and attempts were season highs, while the percentage was second-best..
- Wingate made 54.5 percent from the field and 86.7 percent at the free throw line.
