MARS HILL, N.C. -- Frankin Davis scored a game-high-tying 20 points and
Gabe Cerda added 15, but 20 turnovers cost Belmont Abbey in an 84-72 setback at Mars Hill Saturday afternoon.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Lions improve to 4-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Davis hit seven of 12 from the field, including six three-pointers. He also added three rebounds and a steal.
- Cerda connected on just four of nine, but made six of his seven tries from the charity stripe. He also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
- The Lions tallied 26 of their points off turnovers, while The Abbey converted 13 miscues into 16 points.
- Each team connected on 12 field goals from behind the arc.
- Mars Hill connected on 26 of 36 from the free-throw line compared to 's 26 points at the free-throw line 12 of 28 for the Crusaders.
