TIGERVILLE, S.C. — Anna Richárd finished with a six-point game (two goals, two assists) while three additional Crusaders scored goals as the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team earned a 5-0 victory over North Greenville Tuesday afternoon at Pepsi Stadium.
All five goals had at least one assist as the Crusaders earned their third straight win. Belmont Abbey also started its second round of Northwest Division play with a sweep of the Trailblazers.
Belmont Abbey improves to 7-3-1 overall and 5-1-1 in league play. North Greenville is 3-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.
The Crusaders are 4-1 in the Northwest Division while North Greenville is 2-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders jumped out to a fast lead with Jadyn Radestock scoring her first goal as a Crusader on a header. Richárd was credited with the assist on the goal.
- Belmont Abbey took six more shots before North Greenville recorded its first shot 14 minutes in.
- Richárd added to her strong half with her fifth goal of the season via a breakaway. Radestock and Caroline Roche were credited with the assists.
- The Crusaders picked up right where they left off in the half as Haley Long scored via Richárd's second assist of the contest in the 55th minute.
- Addie Galek scored for the second straight game in the 60th minute and Belmont Abbey capped the scoring less than two minutes later with Richárd's second goal.
- Long and Sabrina Cunha each earned assists on the respective goals.
- Belmont Abbey finished with 24 shots, 16 on target compared to five and four, respectively, for North Greenville.
- Ryleigh Dougherty and Gianna Carneglia combined for the shutout in goal. Dougherty made one save while Carneglia had three.
