BELMONT, N.C. -- Lola Sultenfuss tallied a career-high 18 kills and
Renata Bolado and
Emma Youngblood each had double-doubles, lifting Belmont Abbey to a 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 25-17, 25-20) victory over Chowan in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Friday night. The victory capped a perfect ending to an evening in which four senior were honored in a pregame ceremony.
With the win, the Crusaders improve to 10-12 overall and 6-9 in league play. The Hawks fall to 5-17, 4-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sultenfuss connected at a .467 clip with 18 kills against just four errors in 30 chances. She also added four digs and a block assist.
- Three other players also reached double figures in kills, led by Bolado, who had 13, She also had 11 digs and three blocks for her 12th double-double of the year.
- Katie Brookins added 12 kills, while Chloe Lowder tallied 11, hitting .417 (11k-1e-24a).
- Youngblood reached her double-double with 49 assists and 11 digs.
- Sheridan Young spearheaded the defensive effort with 16 digs, while Maya Swenson chipped in 12. As a team, the Crusaders had 81, 14 more than the Hawks.
- Prior to the match, The Abbey recognized Lowder, Adelina Mezzanotte, Ava Brown and Kyleigh Coghlan.
