BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey took the first two sets Friday, but Shorter rallied for a 3-2 (16-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-9) victory over the Crusaders in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action at the Wheeler Center.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 8-11 overall and 4-8 in league play, while the Hawks improve to 13-6, 10-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chloe Lowder led three players to reach double figures in kills with 13. She hit .313, tallying just two errors in 32 chances, while adding three blocks.
- Lola Sultenfuss registered 12 kills, while Renata Bolado added 10.
- Bolado chipped in 11 digs for her 11th double-double of the year.
- Mallory Swain tallied a career-high 22 digs, topping the 20 she had against Southern Wesleyan earlier this month. Sheridan Young also reached double figures with 11.
- Kyleigh Coghlan, served a pair of aces with Bolado and Emma Youngblood adding two each.
- Youngblood spearheaded the office with 35 assists.
