FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- Emma Youngblood led Belmont Abbey in assists and digs, but defending regular-season champion and preseason favorite Emmanuel was too much for the Crusaders Saturday, earning a 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-20) victory.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 8-9 overall and 4-6 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Lions improve to 11-5, 9-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Youngblood finished with 21 assists and nine digs, but fell short of her seventh straight double-double. She also had a block and a service ace.
- Chloe Lowder had a team-high six kills with Renata Bolado adding five. Adeline Mezzanotte added a season-high four.
- Sheridan Young tied for the team lead in digs with nine.
- Kyleigh Coghlan served a team-best three aces.
