SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's basketball team used a pair of defensive stops in the final 20 seconds to defeat Converse 54-51 Wednesday evening at Tom and Tracy Hannah Gym.

Riley James forced one of her four steals on the night and made a pair of free throws on the other end of the court. The Crusaders partially blocked a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer to hold on for the win. The victory extended the Crusaders' winning streak to 10 games.
