SPARTANBURG, S.C. --
Dionte Alexander tallied a season-high 19 points and Belmont Abbey had a season-low eight turnovers, but Converse held off the Crusaders for a 68-60 victory in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Wednesday night.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 1-8 overall and 0-6 play, while the Valkyries improve to 5-7, 4-2. The teams are 0-2 and 2-0, respectively, in Northwest Division action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alexander hit eight-of-16 from the field, including three of six from beyond the three-point arc. He also grabbed five rebounds and blocked a team-season-high three shots.
- Judah Sault reached double figures for the fourth time this season with 12 points, just one off his season-best.
- Daniel Lumbamba grabbed 13 rebounds, including 12 of the defensive end. He scored five points and dished out a team-high three assists.
