WILSON, N.C. -- After missing the first two months of the season while recovering from injury, sophomore
Khamani Wertz came out with a bang Saturday, tallying a team-high 12 points in a 74-46 setback at Barton in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 1-7 overall, 0-5 in league play, while the Bulldogs improve to 7-6, 3-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wertz was in the starting lineup, then hit four three-pointers for his total. He added three assists -- tied for the team lead -- and two rebounds.
- Alhousseny Diallo and Judah Sault each tallied eight points.
- Daniel Lubamba became the first Crusader to reach double digits in rebounding this season with 10.
- The Crusaders shot 36.4 percent from the field overall and had just three free throw attempts.
