BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey took the first set of the 2025 men's volleyball season Friday morning against Lincoln Memorial, but the Railsplitters rallied for a 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-16 , 25-21) victory over the Crusaders at the Wheeler Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Five Crusaders registered kills, led by Matthew Staskunas with nine. Jibriel Elhaddad tallied eight, while Caden Day and Zach Puentes chipped in seven each.
• Staskunas added a team-high three service aces, while also making three digs.
• Joseph Morris led The Abbey with 20 assists and served two aces.
• Alejandro Leon led the defensive effort with 14 digs. Day and Puentes had five each.
• Belmont Abbey hit just .016 in the contest with 35 kills against 33 errors in 124 chances. Meanwhile, Lincoln Memorial hit .273 as a team.
