BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Belmont Abbey men's golf team put together a strong round to move into contention after the opening round of the King Invitational Monday at the Golf Club of Bristol.
The Crusaders have two teams in the tournament with the 'A' team sitting in a tie for third with Young Harris after a 3-under-par 277. The team is four shots behind host King and Tusculum who are tied for first with a 7-under-par 273.
Elian Infante and
Nick Norman are both in the top five after both players shot matching rounds of 67. Two shots back of them is
Eduardo Arango Perigault, who shot 69.
Dominic Matteoni led the Abbey's second team with a 71 followed by a 72 from
Connor Rose.
