ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Belmont Abbey began play at the Flagler Saints Classic on Friday, dropping a pair of matches against top competition. The Crusaders fell to Nova Southeastern, who is the top receiving-votes team in the AVCA Top 25 poll, 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-15) and to Trevecca Nazarene 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-18).

With the results, The Abbey falls to 1-6 on the season.

THE NOVA SOUTHEASTERN MATCH

• Caitlyn Myers led the Crusaders with six kills, while Addie Eiland and Katie Brookins added three each.
• Emma Youngblood keyed the offensive attack with seven assists.
• Kyleigh Coghlan registered a team-high eight digs, two assists and a block.
• Tyler Case and Lola Sultenfuss each had two blocks, while Case tallied four digs as well.

THE TREVECCA NAZARENE MATCH

• Bailey Teter reached double figures in kills for the second time this season with a team-high 13. She also added five digs.
• Case finished the contest with 10 kills, marking her third time in double digits.
• Ella Schellenberg was credited with 36 assists, six digs and a block.
• Coghlan, Case and Lily Marsh all served a pair ofAces, while Sultenfuss posted a team-best two blocks
