SNOW HILL, N.C. — Freshman
Connor Rose put together the low round of the championship so far for the Belmont Abbey men's golf team as the Crusaders sit in third place Monday following the second round of the Conference Carolinas Championship Monday at Cutter Creek Golf Club.
Rose finished with a 1-under par round of 71 for a two-round total of 2-over par 146. He is tied with Barton's Harrison Wierse for third and both golfers are just one shot back of the medalist lead currently held by Barton's Ryan Jahr and Kris Jackson at 1-over par.
Rose got off to a fast start on the second nine with four birdies in a five-hole stretch at one point. He also got back to under par for the day after making a birdie on the Par-5 18th hole.
As a team, the Crusaders are third with a two-day total of 603 (301-302) and are just one shot behind Mount Olive (303-299—602). Barton leads the tournament with a two-round total of 295-290—585).
First-round co-leader
Jacob Ferrari is tied for sixth after shooting a 76 for a two-round total of 148.
Will Locey shot 77 while
Nick Norman and
Sam Newton each shot 78.

The Crusaders will tee off in the final round Tuesday off the first tee starting at 9:50 a.m. paired alongside Barton and Mount Olive.
