SNOW HILL, N.C. — Jacob Ferrari put together a strong opening round as he and the rest of the Belmont Abbey men's golf team got off to a good start Sunday at the Conference Carolinas Championship Sunday at Cutter Creek Golf Club.
Ferrari led the way for the Crusaders with an even par round of 72 where he finished with three birdies on his round. He is tied for the individual lead with Mount Olive's Rasums Ronnberg as they both lead by one shot over Barton's Ryan Jahr and Kris Jackson.
In the team standings, Belmont Abbey is second with an opening 301, six strokes behind leader Barton (295). The Crusaders have three golfers sitting in the Top 10 as
Connor Rose (75) and
Nick Norman (76) are tied for seventh and ninth, respectively.
Will Locey and
Sam Newton rounded out the five for the Abbey with rounds of 78 and 79, respectively.

The Crusaders will tee off in the second round on Monday off the first tee starting at 9:50 a.m. paired alongside Barton and Emmanuel, who is tied for third with Mount Olive.
