Late Goal Lifts Crusaders to 11-10 Win over Embry-Riddle

BELMONT, N.C. -- Riley Arsenault scored his second goal of the game with 2:24 remaining, lifting Belmont Abbey to an 11-10 win over Embry-Riddle in men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders broke a five-game losing streak that including three straight games on the road.

With the win, The Abbey improves to 2-5 on the season, while the Eagles fall to 3-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jeremy Mahoney led Belmont Abbey with five points on three goals and two assists. He also added four ground balls.
  • Garren Berkman also scored two goals, converting both of his shots.
  • Davis McCulley, Tre Childers, Harry Maloney and Jacob Power also found the net. McCulley added an assist.
  • Caleb Mulcahy won 21 of the 25 faceoffs and grabbed 19 ground balls. He assisted on a third-quarter goal.
  • Defender Pat Doering, a fifth-year grad student, earned his first career point with an assist.
  • Belmont Abbey outshot theEagles 40-32 overall and 14-8 overall.
  • Angus Snow made eight saves to improve to 2-5 in goal.
