McCulley Scores Four as Crusaders Wrap Up Florida Trip

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Davis McCulley scored four goals and Harry Maloney tallied four points on two goals and two assists but a second-quarter surge lifted No. 18 Florida Southern to a 19-10 victory over Belmont Abbey in collegiate men's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon. After tying the game at 3-3 late in the first quarter, the Mocs talllied 13 straight goals into the fourth.

The results sends the Crusaders to 1-5, while FSC improves to 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • McCulley took a team-high eight shots with seven on net. He also gained two ground balls.
  • Tre Childers, Quinn Smith, Jack Clough and Jacob Power also scored for the Crusaders. Smith and Power added assists for a two-point day.
  • The Abbey won 19 of 33 faceoffs as a team, including 18 of 29 by Caleb Mulcahy. He also grabbed a team-high 16 ground balls.
  • Angus Snow made 23 saves in goal, facing 40 shots on goal by FSC.

  • After three straight road games, the Crusaders return to Alumni Field on Saturday.
