TAMPA, Fla.. -- Davis McCulley and Jack Clough each scored twice, but a decisive second quarter lifted No. 4 Tampa to an 18-7 victory over Belmont Abbey in collegiate men's lacrosse action Saturday night. After building a 5-2 lead in the opening period, the Spartans outscored the Crusaders 8-1 in the second 15 minutes.

The Abbey falls to 1-4 with the result, while Tampa improves to 5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Quinn Smith, Kyle Davis and Nate Lorenzo also tallied goals for Belmont Abbey.
• Garren Berkman and Jeremy Mahoney were credited with assists.
• Caleb Mulchay won 10 of 21 faceoffs and registered nine ground balls. Lorenzo Goganious grabbed four ground ball.
• Tampa held a 57-35 advantage in shots and caused 10 turnovers.
• Angus Snow made 11 saves in goals. Bradley Friedel played the final 1:48 in the cage, but did not face a shot on goal.
