Snow Makes 10 Saves, Scores First Career Goal at Newberry

NEWBERRY, S.C. -- Harry Maloney scored three goals and Thomas Lewis added a pair, but 12th-ranked Newberry came away with an 18-8 victory over Belmont Abbey in men's lacrosse action Saturday.

The Crusaders fall to 1-3 on the season, while the Wolves remain undefeated at 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Belmont Abbey held leads at 1-0 and 2-1 early in the contest, but Newberry scored three in a row after that for a 4-2 advantage.
  • The second quarter proved decisive as the Wolves outscored the Crusaders 5-1 for a 10-4 lead at the break.
  • Tre Childers, Jeremy Mahoney and goalie Angus Snow also tallied goals. Snow's first career strike came from the defensive end at 12:15 of the first quarter.
  • Newberry outshot The Abbey 46-35 overall and 28-20 on goal. The Wolves won 14 of 30 faceoffs.
  • Snow made 10 saves in net.
