WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Three Crusaders earned a spot on the podium Sunday, while five others qualified for tomorrow's finals, highlighting Belmont Abbey's first day at the 2024 Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship. With 26 points, the Crusaders stand in third place overall, trailing Mount Olive (61) and UNC Pembroke (39).
Freshman
Dayzhaun Gooding-Williams took third in the long jump, while
Orlando Descartes placed third in the high jump. Both earned third-team all-conference honors. The distance medley relay team of
Clinton Hubbard,
Thomas Thierfelder,
Jose Hernandez and
Brian Sause started the meet by also taking third-team all-conference honors with third place.
Jeremiah Hines (200m),
Jesse Coleman (400m),
Garison Coleman (400m),
Josh Gulapa (60m H) and
Ayden Thompson (60m H) will all race tomorrow in their respective finals.
One school record was set on Sunday with
Zachary Knott placing fifth in the 5000m Run with a time of 15:08.77.
