ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Will Locey got off to a good start for the Belmont Abbey men's golf team Monday by finishing the opening day of the LMU Spring Kick-Off ain the top 10 after the first day of play.
Locey is in a tie for sixth after shooting consecutive rounds of 1-under par 71 to lead the Crusaders in their spring opener at St Johns Golf and Country Club. As a team, the Crusaders are in 12th in a crowded leaderboard after opening with a two-round total of 595.
Jacob Ferrari also got off to a good start by opening with an even-par 72 in Round 1. He is currently tied for 24th at 2-over par.
Georgia Southwestern leads the tournament (282-290—572, -4) ahead of North Georgia (285-289—574, -2) and Lander (295-285—580, +4).
