BELMONT, N.C. --
Jordan Patton and
Brian Carter, Jr., each topped double figures but North Greenville pulled away for a 79-63 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
With the result in the Northwest Division opener, the Crusaders fall to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in league play. The Trailblazers improve to 4-6, 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Patton tallied a career-high 19 points and tied his career best with five rebounds. The freshman has now topped double figures in scoring in all three games this season.
- Carter, Jr., tallied 14 points as the only other player to top the 10-point mark.
- Belmont Abbey was even with NGU on the boards, with each team grabbing 27.
- The Abbey shot a season-best 50 percent from the field (22 of 44), while hitting seven of 16 (43.7 percent) from behind the three-point arc.
