Crusaders Earn First Win behind Peters and Lubamba

BELMONT, N.C. -- Jaden Peters and Daniel Lubamba became the first players this season to top 20 points for Belmont Abbey as the Crusaders earned a 90-56 victory over Carolina Christian in non-conference men's basketball action Wednesday night. The win was the first for the Abbey (1-3) in 2024-25, while the Centurions fall to 2-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Peters tallied 28 points, hitting 10 of 18 from the field, including five of 12 from three-point range. He also made all three of his free throws.
  • Lubamba added 20 points, making nine of his 12 shot attempts (two of three three-pointers). He dished out a team-high five assists, while grabbing four rebounds.
  • Jordan Patton and Judah Sault also reached double figures with 10 points. They led the team in rebounding with eight and seven, respectively.
  • Belmont Abbey shot a season-best 57.6 percent (38 of 66) from the field. Eight three-pointers abd 43 rebounds were also season bests, as were the 90 points.
  • The Crusaders used a 17-0 run midway through the second half to turn an eight-point lead into 25, 59-34 with 12:19 remaining.
