BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey honored three seniors in a pregame ceremony, but Mount Olive earned a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-18) victory over the Crusaders in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon. The match served as the 2024 home finale at the Wheeler Center.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 7-19 overall and 5-12 in league play. The Trojans close their regular season at 20-7, 16-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Four Crusaders led the offense with six kills each --
Chloe Lowder,
Tyler Case,
Lola Sultenfuss and
Cailyn Myers.
Myers (.294) and Sultenfuss (.278) both tallied just one error.
Ella Youngblood dished out 15 assists, while
Ella Schellenberg added 10.
Belmont Abbey served three aces, two by
Lily Marsh and one by Case.
Lowder (one solo and three assists) and Sultenfuss (one solo and three assists) both had four blocks.
Mallory Swain registered 16 digs.
Seniors
Riley Nickol,
Bailey Teter and Schellenberg were honored before the match.
