Tyler Case registered a season-high 18 kills and
Lola Sultenfuss added 13 more, but King earned a 3-1 (25-23, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20) victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Wednesday night. The action was the regular-season finale for both teams.
With the results, The Crusaders fall to 7-20 overall and 5-13 in league play (1-7 in the Northwest Division), while King improves to 11-11, 9-9, 4-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Case hit .412 in the contest with 18 kills against four errors in 34 attempts. She also served an ace and had five digs.
- Sultenfuss reached double figures in kills for the fifth time this season with 13. She connected at a .273 clip (13k-4e-33a), while adding two aces and two block assists.
- Ella Schellenberg dished out 41 assists and added a team-best eight digs.
- Riley Nickol and Mallory Swain also tallied eight digs, with Nickol serving a team-high three aces and making two assists.Â
- Chloe Lowder and Cailyn Myers each recorded three blocks.
UP NEXT
- Belmont Abbey is almost certainly headed to the Conference Carolinas Tournament pending the outcome of tomorrow's UNC-Pembroke-Converse match and the final KPI rankings.
- The Crusaders will play a neutral game Saturday or Sunday in the first round, advancing to face the host team in the second round with a win.
