TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Freshman
Katie Brookins tied a career-high with 15 kills, hitting .433, and
Tyler Case also reached double figures in the category, but North Greenville posted a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 28-26) over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Wednesday night.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 7-18 overall and 5-11 in league play (1-5 in the Northwest Division), while the Trailblazers improve to 14-13, 11-4, 5-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brookins had her best hitting night of the year with just two errors in 30 chances. She topped double figures for the ninth time, equaling a 15-kill performance against Francis Marion on Oct. 5.
- Case hit .226 with 12 kills against five errors in 31 attempts.
- Ella Schellenberg registered 35 kills and fell joust short of a double-double with nine digs.
- Mallory Swain led the defensive effort with 12 digs, while Riley Nickol added seven.
- Belmont Abbey served six aces total -- four by Nickol and two by Kyleigh Coghlan.
- Chloe Lowder was credited with four blocks (all assists), while Case and Lola Sultenfuss added two each.
