BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey took a second-half lead after trailing by double digits, but Southern Wesleyan regrouped for a 76-68 victory over the Crusaders in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
Jaden Peters led four players in double figures with 16 points.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in league play. The Warriors improve to 2-4, 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Peters hit six-of-16 from the field with three three-pointers. He added six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
- Jordan Patton chipped in 11 points, with Brian Carter, Jr., and Daniel Lubamba tallying 10 points each.
- Judah Sault grabbed a career-high nine rebounds, adding nine points.
- BAC trailed by as many as 15, 33-18, with 3:14 left in the first half, but used a 12-3 run midway through the second for a 45-44 lead.
- The Abbey shot 42.9 percent (24 of 56) from the field, but only 29.4 percent (10 of 34) from beyond the three point arc.
- Southern Wesleyan held a 47-30 rebounding advantage.
