NEWBERRY, S.C. -- Graduate student
Nathan Gallman finished second overall at the 2024 Newberry XC Invitational Saturday, leading Belmont Abbey to a runner-up finish. The meet was a late addition to the Crusaders' schedule after last week's scheduled action -- ironically on the same course -- was canceled due to Hurricane Helene.
Gallman posted a time of 26:19.4 over the 8K course, 15 seconds behind the winner. The Abbey scored 47 points, 20 more than Emory & Henry.
Belmont Abbey returns to action on Friday for its final regular-season meet of the year. The Crusaders compete in Queens' Royal Challenge at McAlpine Park in Charlotte.
