SPARTANBURG, S.C. --
Katie Brookins hit .273 with eight kills but Converse defeated Belmont Abbey 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-18) in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 6-16 overall and 4-9 in league play (0-5 Northwest), while the Valkyries improve to 15-5, 9-2, 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lola Sultenfuss added six kills against one error for the Crusaders. She connected at a .417 pace on her 12 attempts.
- Chloe Lowder did not have an error in her nine tries, hitting .444. She also added a team-high three blocks.
- Ella Schellenberg was the assist leader with 12.
- Lily Marsh led the defensive effort with 10 digs, while also serving three of the team's six aces.
UP NEXT
- Belmont Abbey returns home on Tuesday night against Lees-McRae.
- The 6 p.m. contest was originally slated for Friday, Nov. 8, but moved to accommodate some Conference Carolinas scheduling adjustments.
