TOCCOA, Ga. — Will Muldoon put together a strong second round to help lead the Belmont Abbey men's golf team during the opening day of the McCoy-Wright Currahee Collegiate Monday at Currahee Golf Club.
The freshman closed the day with a 3-under par round of 69 in the second round and sits just outside the top 10 with a 1-over par total of 145 (76-69). Muldoon is tied for 11th with two other golfers while the Abbey sits eighth as a team after the opening 36 holes.
The Crusaders finished with a 5-over par round of 293 as a team in the second round. Mariano Estabanez Rincon had the best round of the opening 18 holes with a 2-over par 74 and followed that up with a 3-over par 75.
Eduardo Arango Perigault also shot 74 in the second round.
Wingate's Brandon Skidmore leads the tournament with a 4-under par total individually with USC Beaufort leading the tournament with a 3-under par team total.
