CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Freshman
Elizabeth Young placed third overall in the Royal Challenge Blue Division race Friday afternoon, leading the Crusaders to a fifth-place finish. The meet, which was the regular-season finale, was hosted by Queens at McAlpine Park.
Young covered the 5k course in a time of 19:14.3, 21 seconds behind the overall winner. As a team, The Abbey finished fifth.
Belmont Abbey returns to action in two weeks at the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Championship. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Milliken Park in Spartanburg.
