PEMBROKE, N.C. --
Ella Schellenberg posted her third double-double of the season and Belmont Abbey took the first set, but ultimately dropped a 3-1 (14-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-13) decision to UNC Pembroke in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 1-15 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Braves improve to 10-7, 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Schellenberg dished out 25 assists and made 13 digs.
- Jenna McCullough led the team with 10 kills, hitting .200 in the contest. She also registered an assist and had three blocks (one solo).
- Tyler Case and Cameron Young each had eight kills. Case added four digs, two assists and a block, while Young contributed seven digs and two aces.
- Lily Marsh was credited with a team-high 16 digs and had four service aces, most by any Crusader this season.
UP NEXT
- After playing 16 of its first 17 matches on the road, Belmont Abbey now gets to enjoy seven of the last 10 at home.
- The string begins Friday with a weekend of league games. The Crusaders host Southern Wesleyan on Friday and North Greenville on Saturday.
- The matches are the first two of a four-match homestand.
