BELMONT, N.C. -- Freshman
Tyler Case registered a career-high 23 kills and had 14 digs for her fourth career double-double, leading Belmont Abbey to a thrilling reverse sweep of Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Friday night. After dropping the first two sets, the Crusaders won three in a row for the 3-2 (16-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-13) victory.
With the results, The Abbey improves to 2-13 overall and 2-5 in league play, while the Warriors drop to 1-14, 0-8).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jenna McCullough also reached double figures in kills with 11, while adding eight digs.
- Dani Pohl and Lola Sultenfuss each tallied nine kills, the most in this their freshman campaigns.
- In addition to Case, three others tallied at least 10 digs - Lily Marsh (career-high 25), Cameron Young (14) and Riley Nickol (11).
- Ella Schellenberg dished out a career-best 59 assists.
- Belmont Abbey's 68 kills ranked tied for sixth all-time in a match. The .220 hitting percentage was a season high.
