CLOVER, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey field hockey team continued its three-game homestand with a matchup against No. 7 Mount Olive in a South Atlantic Conference matchup at Field Day Park.
Casey Etter tallied her first goal of the season but it was the Trojans who rallied to earn a 3-1 win over the Crusaders.
Belmont Abbey is now 1-6 overall, 1-4 in the SAC. Mount Olive is now 8-1 overall and 7-0 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Etter's goal came early at less than three minutes into the contest. She scored the goal after a shot from Isabella Grasso was saved and Etter scored off the rebound.
- Mount Olive was held to just one shot in the first 15 minutes.
- The Trojans out-shot the Crusaders 7-3 in the first half.
- Etter finished the game with four shots, all of which were on goal.
- The Crusaders had three penalty corners for the game, all of which came in the third quarter.
- Jemimah Kriechelberg scored two goals in the span of 1:36 to put the Trojans ahead.
- Chloe Parker finished with five saves on the afternoon for The Abbey.

- The Crusaders close out the homestand with a matchup against Lincoln Memorial at 3 p.m. Saturday.
- The contest will take place at Belk Turf Field on the Davidson University campus.
- Belmont Abbey returns to Field Day Park at 2 p.m. on October 6.
