SHIPPENSBURG, PA. – The Belmont Abbey field hockey team concluded its opening road trip against No. 2 ranked Shippensburg Saturday afternoon at the Robb Sports Complex.
Chloe Parker made 10 saves, the fifth time to reach double-digit saves for her career, and
Caitlin Struckhoff recorded two defensive saves for the Crusaders but it was the Raiders who came away with the 6-0 win.
Shippensburg moved to 2-0 on the season while Belmont Abbey is now 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders took a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to scoring two goals within the first minute of each quarter.
- Belmont Abbey's best chances to score came in the third quarter with two shots on goal from Casey Etter.
- With her two defensive saves, Struckhoff now has seven for her career. She is just one behind matching Kayley Williams for the most in program history in that category.
- Analeigh Page and Hailey Leatherman both made their first appearances of the season for The Abbey.
- Belmont Abbey finished with two penalty corners for the contest.
