YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Three Belmont Abbey players posted double-doubles Saturday leading the Crusaders to their first victory of the season, 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 15-8) at Conference Carolinas newcomer Young Harris.
Belmont Abbey improves to 1-9, 1-1 with the victory, while the Mountain Lions fall to 4-5, 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cameron Young tallied 14 kills and 14 digs, while Tyler Case recorded 13 kills and a team-high 16 digs.
- Ella Schellenberg dished out a 32 assists and 15 digs, both career bests.
- The Abbey had six service aces -- two each by Riley Nickol and Case with one each by Young and Lily Marsh.
- Nickol added 12 digs with Marsh chipping in 10, giving the Crusaders six players over 10 in the category.
- The Abbey hit a season-high .155 as a team with 49 kills against 22 errors in 174 attempts.
- In the fifth set, Young Harris led 4-2 early, but BAC scored six straight and 10 of the next 11 points to seize control.
UP NEXT
- After 10 straight games away from home to open the season, the Crusaders welcome Converse to the Wheeler Center Wednesday night.
