BELMONT, N.C. -- Freshman
Tyler Case posted her second career double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs and
Jenna McCullough added nine kills, but Converse rallied for a 3-1 (18-25, 25-16, 15-15, 25-16) victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Wednesday night.
The result, which came in the Crusaders' home opener, drops the overall record to 1-10, 1-2 in league play. The Valkyries improve to 3-8, 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders opened the match by taking the first set. They hit .273 during the stanza with 14 kills against five errors in 33Â attempts.
- Ella Schellenberg dished out 36 assists and had a block assist.
- Lily Marsh also keyed the defensive effort with 12 digs.
- Ellie Roberts had the only block solo, while McCullough tallied two block assists.
- Case had the final block assist in addition to serving three of the team's four aces. Young had the other.
UP NEXT
- After playing its first 10 matches on the road, the Abbey heads back out for three more matches away from home.
- The string begins with a Saturday matchup against Northwest Division rival Lees-McRae.
- The match starts at 2 p.m. in Banner Elk.
