EMORY, VA. – The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team continued its extended road trip with a nonconference contest at Emory & Henry Wednesday evening at Fred Selfe Stadium. The match marked the final nonconference match for the Crusaders.
The Crusaders took 12 shots, five on goal, but the team finished in a 0-0 draw with the Wasps.
It is the first draw of the season for Belmont Abbey, who is now 2-1-1 on the season. Emory & Henry is 1-1-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont Abbey applied pressure early with three shots on goal within the first 17:30 of the contest.
- Logan Parry and Gabriela Enciso accounted for two shots on goal each and seven of the 12 shots for the Crusaders.
- Emory & Henry finished the match with 10 shots and Brianna Sroka made a crucial save in the 84th minute to keep the match scoreless.
- The Crusaders took a pair of shots within the final two minutes of the match but the Wasps were able to keep the match scoreless.
- Belmont Abbey held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
