BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Ryan Charles tallied seven kills and Brian Knoerr and Alex Winiarczyk added six each, but Belmont Abbey dropped a 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22) decision at Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Wednesday night.

The result drops the Crusaders to 14-14 overall and 8-5 in league play, while the Bobcats improve to 10-14, 6-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Belmont Abbey hit just .156 as a team compared to .202 for Lees-McRae
• Knoerr hit .357 with his six kills against just one error in 14 chances.
• Gage Giller and Jibriel Elhaddad each had a statline of three kills and no errors in five tries (.600)
• Matthew Maxwell dished out 34 assists and added three kills. He also made three digs.
• Daniel Cerqua led the defensive effort with nine digs.
