FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. --
Matteo Miselli and
Gage Giller each topped double figures in kills and Belmont Abbey rallied from a 2-1 set deficit for a 3-2 (25-22, 15-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-6) victory over Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Crusaders are now 14-13 overall and 8-4 in league play and are guaranteed no worse than a home game in the Conference Carolinas Tournament quarterfinals. The Abbey can still earn a top two seed and semifinal berth but must win its remaining two games.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miselli totaled 16 kills, while Giller connected for a career-high 12 kills. They also contributed five and six digs, respectively.
- Ethan Rehmann hit .533 with nine kills against one error in 15 chances, while Jay Beller did not have an error to hit .700 (7k-0e-10a).
- Matthew Maxwell dished out 47 assists and had nine digs.
- Rehmann added two aces, six digs and four block assists to his line score.
- Daniel Cerqua led the defensive effort with 11 digs, the 10th time this season he had reached double figures. It marks his fourth straight and sixth in seven matches over 10.
