MONROE, N.C. – Will Locey put together the best round of the day for the Belmont Abbey men's golf team to close out the first two rounds of the Hargett Memorial Invitational Monday at Rolling Hills Country Club.
 
Locey closed out the day with a 2-under-par round of 70 and along with his opening 77 puts him at 3-over-par for the tournament and in 18^th place individually. Lee Carew is just behind Locey at +5 (74-75—149). Jack Warren is just behind at a shot back after shooting an even par round of 72 to close the day (78-72—150).
 
The Crusaders had two teams competing this week with Belmont Abbey A (304-291—595) in sixth place while Belmont Abbey B (317-315—632).
 
Grand Valley State leads the tournament (292-285—577) with Flagler (302-286—588) and Wingate (298-290—588) tied for second. The gap between second place and eighth place is  currently just 10 shots.
