Matteo Miselli and
Matthew Staskunas combined for 43 kills and
Matthew Maxwell dished out a career-high 52 assists, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-2 (25-22, 18-25, 31-29, 21-25, 15-8) win over Fairleigh Dickinson in men's college volleyball action Thursday night.
With the result, the Crusaders improve to 9-12, while the Knights falls to 4-10. The win also avenged an 3-1 FDU during the opening weekend of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miselli registered 24 kills, hitting .383. He had just six errors in 47 chances.
- Staskunas tallied three errors in 45 chances for a .356 hitting percentage.
- Maxwell added 11 digs for his first double-double of the season.
- Daniel Cerqua led the defensive effort with 13 digs, while Miselli chipped in nine.
- Alex Winiarczyk served three of the team's seven aces.
