Charles Solomon both had double-doubles and
Lolo Francis scored the game's first three points in his first career start as Belmont Abbey celebrated the trio with a 99-76 victory over Erskine in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Wednesday night.
With the win, the Crusaders improved to 17-9 overall and 13-5 in league play while Erskine remains winless at 0-27, 0-19. The Abbey is guaranteed no worse than the No. 5 seed and a home
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On a night celebrating seniors, junior Wade Jackson scored a career-high 27 points, hitting seven three-pointers (tied for third most all-time in a game.)
- Lacey finished with 17 points and a season-high 14 rebounds for his eighth double-double this season and 19th in his career.
- Solomon tallied 10 points and 12 boards and five blocks. It was his fourth double-double of the year and eighth overall.
- KJ Garrett just missed a double-double of his own tallying nine points to go along with 10 assists.
- The Abbey led by as many as seven points in the first half but saw the Flying Fleet climb back to within three, 39-36 at halftime.
- The Crusaders used a 20-1 run to turn a 71-64 advantage with 7:35Â to play into a 91-65 lead at the 3:21 mark. In the first meeting two weeks ago, Belmont Abbey ended the game on a 23-0 run to reverse a seven-point deficit with under 7 minutes to play.
- Francis, Solomon and Lacy were honored with student assistant coach Malik Tucker, student manager Ian Jackson and developmental team player Robert Wheeler III in a pregame ceremony.

- Belmont Abbey closes out the regular season with a pair of road games -- at Lees-McRae on Saturday and at UNC Pembroke next Wednesday.
