BELMONT, N.C. -- Matthew Staskunas came up just short of a double-double with 12 kills and nine digs, but still led Belmont Abbey to a 3-1 victory over Barton in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Saturday afternoon. The sophomore also registered three blocks in the winning effort.

The Crusaders improve to 3-7 overall and 2-1 in league play with their second conference win in as many days. Barton falls to 0-8, 0-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Matteo Miselli led the Crusaders in kills with 14, but hot just .093 overall.
• Stauskunas had just three errors im 24 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage. Ethan Rehmann hit .615 with nine kills against one error in 13 changes, while Jay Beller and Gage Giller added seven kills each.
• Matthew Maxwell dished out 43 assists and seven digs. He also had two aces and four blocks (one solo, three assists).
• The Abbey totaled 51 kills and hit .294 as a team.
