BELMONT, N.C. – Felipe Baptista scored his first goal of the season for the Belmont Abbey men's soccer team in its Homecoming match against Barton Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
 
However, the Bulldogs scored two goals in the final seven minutes to earn a 2-1 victory over the Crusaders.
 
With the result, Belmont Abbey is now 5-4-1 overall and 3-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Barton is 5-5-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Crusaders struck early just 1:15 into the match when Baptista scored off an assist from Davis McBee in the lower right corner of the goal.
• Belmont Abbey outshot the Bulldogs 6-4 in the first half.
• Barton got the tying goal off a deflection via a free kick with just over six minutes remaining in the match.
• Tommy Migliarotti scored in the final 30 seconds for the go-ahead goal for the Bulldogs.
• Belmont Abbey finished with 12 shots on the afternoon, three on target.
• Walter Gomez led the Crusaders with four shots for the match. He was one of eight Crusaders to take a shot in the match.
• Barton had five corner kicks compared to four for The Abbey.
• Will Whitman made a season-best six saves in goal for the Crusaders. Four of Whitman's six saves came in the final 20 minutes of play.

• The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team will complete its match against Erskine at 7 p.m. Monday.
• The match will resume from the 10:01 mark in the first half when play was suspended in the first half.
