BRISTOL, Tenn. – Davis McBee tallied a goal and three assists as part of six different players who scored as the Belmont Abbey men's soccer team defeated King 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at Parks Field.
The Abbey scored three goals in the first 11:35 of the contest and added four more in the second half to secure the victory.
Belmont Abbey won its third straight contest and improved to 5-3-1 overall and 3-1 in Conference Carolinas play. King is now 3-8 overall, 0-6 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nate Cox scored his first goal of the season 3:35 into the match off an assist from McBee.
- Jorge Aguilar scored his second goal of the year off another McBee assist just over seven minute in.
- Duncan added his second goal of the season off a corner kick from McBee. He led the team with four shots, three on targer.
- Walter Gomez, McBee and Alex Ljusberg scored in the second half for The Abbey. The final goal for the Crusaders came via an own goal off a corner kick.
- The Crusaders finished with an 18-9 advantage in shots as well as 10-1 shots on goal over the Tornado.
- The Abbey finished with 11 corner kicks compared to four for the Tornado.
- Will Whitman made one save in goal for the Crusaders.
- Trent McConnaughey made his second appearance of the season for the Crusaders in the second half of the contest.

- The Crusaders return home to face Barton at 3 p.m. Saturday as part of Homecoming Weekend.
- Additionally, the home game between Erskine and Belmont Abbey has been rescheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Alumni Field. The match will resume from where it was suspended Saturday at the 10:01 mark of the first half.
