BRISTOL, Tenn. – Logan Parry tallied her second straight multi-goal match and third this season as the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team faced King Tuesday afternoon at Parks Field.
Despite Parry's two goals, the Tornado rallied and earned a 3-2 win over the Crusaders in a Northwest Division matchup.
With the result, Belmont Abbey is now 4-2-3 overall, 2-1-2 in Conference Carolinas play. King is 4-5-1 overall, 3-2 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont Abbey applied the pressure with five shots in the first eight minutes.
- Parry got the Crusaders on the board in the 10th minute off the assist from Sabrina Cunha.
- The Tornado pulled even in the 30th minute with a goal from Mackenzie Winters.
- King added a pair of goals in the second half in the 50th and 66th minute.
- Parry converted from the penalty spot with just over 3:30 remaining after King was called for a handball in the box.
- Parry has 13 goals on the season and has officially taken over the Conference Carolinas lead.
- Belmont Abbey outshot King 18-6 and 7-3 on goal.
- Cunha and Haley Long each led with four shots for the Crusaders. Parry finished with three (all on goal) along with Gabriela Enciso while Paige D'Agostin had two.
- The Crusaders also had 14 corner kicks compared to 2 for the Tornado.
