BELMONT, N.C. – Head coach
Mike Lynch earned his 150th win as the leader of the Belmont Abbey women's soccer program as the Crusaders defeated King 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The win also captured the Northwest Division title for Belmont Abbey in the new three-division format and finished off an unbeaten regular season home schedule with a 7-0-1 mark.
Logan Parry earned a brace as she was one of five Crusaders to score during the match.
Belmont Abbey is now 9-2-4 overall and 7-1-3 in Conference Carolinas play. King is now 5-10-1 overall and 4-7 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders scored their two goals in 50 seconds with goals from Haley Long and Parry. Reagan Cullen added an assist on Parry's first goal.
- After King scored to make the score 2-1, Kaitlyn Briones regained the two-goal advantage with a leaping header for a goal off a corner kick from Addie Galek.
- Gabriela Enciso scored less than a minute into the second half off a Long assist while Cullen scored for the second straight match.
- Parry capped the scoring off an assist from Alyssa Espinosa in the 70th minute. She now has 17 goals on the season.
- Belmont Abbey outshot King 33-4 in the contest. Parry, Sabrina Cunha and Paige D'Agostin led the way with six shots each.
- All four of the Tornado shots were on target as Brianna Sroka finished with three saves.
- Belmont Abbey finished with 12 corner kicks while King did not attempt one in the match.

- Belmont Abbey closes the regular season with a match at Conference Carolinas newcomer Young Harris starting at 2 p.m. Saturday.
- Following that match, the Crusaders will await their seed for the Conference Carolinas tournament scheduled to begin the following week.
