Parker Sets New Program Best For Career Saves

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Belmont Abbey junior goalkeeper Chloe Parker set the new program record for most saves in a career during Tuesday's South Atlantic Conference field hockey game against Limestone Tuesday at Saints Field. Parker now has 240 saves for her career after making the stoppage late in the first quarter.
 
However, it was the Saints who came away with the 2-0 victory over the Crusaders in the penultimate game of the regular season.
 
Belmont Abbey is now 6-9 overall and 6-7 in South Atlantic Conference play. Limestone is 9-4 both overall and in league play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Saints jumped out to an early 1-0 lead within the first two minutes of the contest.
  • Parker's save came with 3:43 remaining in the first quarter off a shot from Felicitas Herrero Martel.
  • The first shot of the game for the Crusaders from Cuinn Deely midway through the first quarter.
  • Limestone added its second goal with less than three minut
  • Both teams had three shots on goal while Belmont Abbey finished with a 5-4 advantage in shots.
  • Casey Etter and Lainey Rogers accounted for all four Crusader shots in the second half.
  • Belmont Abbey held a 6-3 advantage in penalty corners.
 
UP NEXT
  • Belmont Abbey closes out the regular season with a matchup against Coker at noon Saturday in Hartsville, South Carolina.
  • The Crusaders defeated the Cobras 3-0 back on October 10 in the first matchup this season.
